About

The Grand Prix 4 Offline Championship (GP4 OC) was created and hosted by azschmy aka Azrul Zafri, in October 2015. The series is now hosted by jyrr123 aka Jyri Määttä, however for 2015 & 2016 JW97 took over the series temporarily as a result of jyrr123 doing his time in the Finnish Military. He took back control of the series from the 2017 season onwards. The series is simulated on Grand Prix 4 or as it is commonly known as GP4 which was released for the PC on June 21, 2002.

2006-2007 - Idea & Beginnings of the OC

The idea of creating this series came from Joseph Willows or known as JW97 when he did Grand Prix 4 Championship in July 2012 which included several YouTubers at the time, in fact some are still racing in this series now. In the absence of GP4 Championship a few years later, Grand Prix 4 Offline Championship returned with a brand new season, rules and drivers and since it's introduction, the series grew throughout the seasons. The 2007 Canadian GP was the first race where all of the competitiors were non-F1 drivers.

2008-2013 - Introduction of 2 new Series

In 2008, it was announced that GP4 OC would run a second tier,  the Grand Prix 4 GP2 OC which gave birth to several professional OC drivers such as Romain Quag, Armar Cah, Rifky Fachrizain, Robert Ionescu, Oliver Glazebrook, Shaun Grant, Franco Gamba and many more. GP2 was hosted by jyrr123 from 2008-2014 and he was initially scheduled to take back control of GP2 in 2017. However, due to timing issues, deoka, who temporarily took over GP2 in 2015 & 2016, became the new permanent GP2 host from 2017. 2 seasons later, another additional tier, the Grand Prix 4 OC DTM was set up hosted by deoka aka Florian Völker and was run as a solution to allow more people to join the series.

2014-2017 - Formula E, BTCC and the Indy 500

4 seasons later, a 4th tier was introduced called the GP4 FE Offline Championship with the host being JW97 also known as Joseph Willows. 3 seasons later, a 5th tier was announced, the tier being called the GP4 BTCC Offline Championship, with JW97 aka Joseph Willows as the host. A couple of months later during testing for the 2017 season, it was announced that a special Indy 500 race would take place on the May 20th 2020, with the race being hosted by top class host jyrr123 and it would be the first time a GP4OC race would take place outside of Grand Prix 4 as it would be hosted on NASCAR Racing 2003 Season or as it is commonly known as NR2003 which was released for PC on February 21st 2003. It would continued to be hosted until the 2021 season when on the 12th August 2022, it was announced that it would be the final ever race due to issues with the game and jyrr123 concentrating on the other series' he was hosting.

2018-2020 - End of an Era

In December 2020, it was announced that an off-season endurance series would take place using GT3 cars and it would be on GTR2 which never came to fruiton. It would be hosted by Jyri Määttä a.k.a. jyrr123. In January 2022, it was announced that JW97 aka Joseph Willows would retire from hosting in the OC with immediate effect due to issues with his OBS. He was originally replaced as FE and BTCC host by Grand aka Miran Evci, however he had to pull out due to personal reasons, meaning jyrr123 aka Jyri Määttä became the temporary host until a new host was found.

2021-present - Fantasy Era starts

In March 2022, it was announced that the tier system would be scrapped from the 2021 season, with BTCC being replaced by World ChampCar and FE no longer becoming an equal car series. In April 2022, it was announced that GP2 would be rebranded to Formula 2 from 2021 as a result of the series having a new car. In April 2023, it was announced that DTM would follow the same path as FE & World ChampCar, and would become a non-equal car series, as a result of the series having new manufacturers. In May 2023, it was announced that jyrr123 would no longer become the host of Formula E and World ChampCar after the 2023 season, due to timing reasons, however for Formula E, this would later be the end of the 2022 season, as in June 2023, it was announced that Blake Moore would become the new host for Formula E from the 2023 season, with jyrr123 continuing to host World ChampCar in 2023, with a chance of continuing to host it beyond the 2023 season, should a new host for the series not be found in time.
